Yamaha NET RADIO Not Working — Restore Internet Radio
“Please wait…” or an empty NET RADIO list

If your Yamaha shows “Please wait…”, an empty NET RADIO list, or asks for a paid vTuner access code, the directory it relied on became unavailable on many older receivers. Retune·FM gives NET RADIO a working address again.

Yamaha split NET RADIO between two directories
Yamaha’s NET RADIO was powered by vTuner. Around 2018 vTuner became a paid service — older receivers were asked to buy a yearly access code at yradio.vtuner.com. Newer MusicCast models (roughly RX-A x40 and later) received a firmware update that moved them to airable.radio, but earlier receivers never got that update — so their NET RADIO simply stopped loading.
If your Yamaha already uses airable (most MusicCast models from about 2016 on), NET RADIO still works and you don’t need Retune·FM. This page is for the older, vTuner-based models.
One DNS setting, about two minutes
You change a single value on the Yamaha — its DNS server. Nothing else on your network changes.

Check that stations are back
Power the Yamaha off and on (or reconnect it to the network), then open Internet Radio / NET RADIO. The list should come alive. If it’s still empty, re-check the DNS value and that the receiver gets its settings from your router.

Which Yamaha models does this help?
The older, vTuner-based network receivers — many RX-V and RX-A (Aventage) models up to around the x30 generation, plus R-N and CRX network players. If NET RADIO used to work and now shows “Please wait” or an empty list, this method applies.
My Yamaha uses airable / MusicCast. Do I need this?
No. Models that received the airable.radio update still have working NET RADIO. Retune·FM is for the earlier vTuner-based receivers that never got that update.
Do I have to pay vTuner’s access-code fee?
No. Retune·FM replaces the directory entirely, so there is no vTuner access code and no yearly vTuner fee.
Is it legal? Do I need an app?
Yes, and no app. Retune·FM only links to publicly available radio streams and is not affiliated with Yamaha or vTuner. You change one DNS setting on the receiver — no app, no account.
How do I undo it?
Set the Yamaha’s DNS back to automatic (or your router’s address). Everything returns to how it was.
