NOXON Internet Radio Not Working — Restore the Station List

“Network error” when you open Internet Radio

An empty station list, or the radio skips from station to station

If your NOXON internet radio reports a network error or shows no stations, the directory it relied on stopped answering. Retune·FM takes over that address, and the full station list comes back.

Build your own station list

What happened

NOXON got its station list from TerraTec’s own portal

NOXON radios are built on Frontier Silicon modules and fetched their station list from TerraTec’s portal at legacy.noxonserver.eu. That server no longer answers, so the radio reports a network error or shows an empty list. Retune·FM responds at exactly that address, so the device gets a working directory again — no firmware change and no app.

This applies to the network-capable NOXON models that fetched their station list online. We verified it on a physical iRadio 300 (firmware 2.1.11).

The fix

One DNS setting, about two minutes

You change a single value on the NOXON — its DNS server. Nothing else on your network changes.

Primary DNS address
62.132.3.28
NOXONOn the radio: Menu → Settings → Network → set IP = Manual → re-enter IP address, subnet mask and gateway → set the DNS to 62.132.3.28 (put it in both DNS fields if the radio has two) → save, then unplug the radio for 15 seconds and open Internet Radio.
💡 Tip: enter it on the receiver itself — then only the receiver changes and every phone or computer in your home keeps working as before.
⚠️ Still not working? If the receiver has a second DNS field (Secondary DNS / DNS 2), enter 62.132.3.28 there as well — if it keeps your router’s address or a public DNS such as 8.8.8.8, the receiver can still reach the old, dead servers. Then switch the receiver off at the mains for 1–2 minutes: standby does not clear the addresses it has stored.
Compatibility

Supported NOXON models

These are the receivers this method typically restores. If your model used the old vTuner Internet Radio menu, it should work — not sure? Start the free trial, there’s nothing to lose.

Final step

Check that stations are back

Power the NOXON off and on (or reconnect it to the network), then open Internet Radio / NET RADIO. The list should come alive. If it’s still empty, re-check the DNS value and that the receiver gets its settings from your router.

My List

Put your own stations on the receiver

You are not limited to the built-in folders. Pick stations on the website and send them straight to the device — they appear under “My List” in the radio menu.

  1. Open the online catalogue and find stations by country, genre, language or name.
  2. Mark the ones you want with the star ★ — they go into your Favorites.
  3. Press 📻 Send to receiver and type in your device code.
  4. The code is the first line of the Internet Radio menu on the device (“retunefm.com — code XXXXXX”).
  5. Open My List on the receiver — your stations are there. Send again any time to update the list.

FAQ

NOXON owners ask

Why does my NOXON say “network error”?

Because the address it asks for the station list — legacy.noxonserver.eu — is no longer served by TerraTec. The radio itself and your network are fine; only the directory went away. Pointing the radio’s DNS at Retune·FM puts a working directory back at that address.

Do I have to set both DNS fields?

Yes, if your model offers a primary and a secondary DNS, put 62.132.3.28 in both. If the secondary still points at a normal DNS server, the radio can resolve the old address to the dead server and fail.

It still fails after I changed the DNS.

Switch the radio off at the mains for about 15 seconds. NOXON models cache DNS answers and the station list until a cold restart, so a menu restart alone is not enough.

Is it legal? Do I need an app?

Yes, and no app. Retune·FM only links to publicly available radio streams and is not affiliated with TerraTec or NOXON. You change one DNS value on the device — no app, no account.

How do I undo it?

Set the radio’s network settings back to automatic (DHCP). Everything returns to how it was.
