TEAC NT-503: restore Internet Radio
The TEAC NT-503 (Reference 500 network player / USB DAC, 2015) shows an empty Internet Radio list, a “No stations” or connection error, or “vtuner” no longer responding because the vTuner directory it used became unavailable. Change one DNS setting and the station list returns.
The list didn’t break — its directory did
The NT-503’s Internet Radio ran on vTuner. In early 2025 the radio directory moved to an HTTPS server and TEAC advised that several older network models would no longer receive radio — owners saw it from around 20 January 2025 — so the menu now returns an error or comes up empty. Retune·FM answers where vTuner used to, over a connection the NT-503 supports. The receiver, your network and its streaming are all fine; only the browsable station directory went away when vTuner became unavailable. Retune·FM answers in its place.

About two minutes. You change one value — the DNS server — and nothing else on your network changes.

Confirm stations are back
Power the NT-503 off and on (or reconnect it to the network), then open Internet Radio / NET RADIO. The list should come alive. Still empty? Re-check the DNS value and that the receiver gets its address settings from your router. To undo everything, set the IP setting back to Automatic.

Why did Internet Radio stop on the NT-503 in 2025?
TEAC’s Internet Radio used the vTuner directory. When it moved to an HTTPS server in early 2025, older units like the NT-503 could no longer reach it, so the station list went empty or errored. Pointing the NT-503’s DNS at Retune·FM restores a working directory.
Can I set the DNS from the TEAC HR Streamer app?
You set the DNS in the unit’s network settings (Manual IP). Some firmware also exposes it via the app — either way it is the same value, 62.132.3.28.
Will I lose my other settings?
No. You only change the DNS value. Switching to Manual can blank the address fields, so note your IP address, subnet mask and gateway first and type them back in.
How do I undo it?
Set the IP setting back to Automatic in Network settings. Everything returns to how it was.
