How to find your receiver’s MAC address
Your Hi-Fi receiver has a unique MAC address — the network ID it used to register with the old radiodenon.com / vTuner service, and the one that identifies it to Retune·FM. Here is where to find it on Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Onkyo and Pioneer models.
What a MAC address is
A MAC address is a fixed 12-character identifier built into the receiver’s network hardware — something like 00:05:CD:12:34:AB. It never changes, and it is how the old vTuner directory (and Retune·FM) tell one receiver apart from another. You don’t need it for the DNS setup, but it is handy for support or for checking your device status.
Fastest way: the sticker
Before diving into menus, look at the label on the back or underside of the unit. The MAC address is usually printed there next to MAC or MAC ADDR — 12 characters, sometimes with no separators (for example 0005CD1234AB).
Denon and Marantz receivers
Denon and Marantz share the same menus, so the paths match.
AV receivers (AVR / AVC / SR / NR / AV series): press Setup or Menu → Network → Network Information. On older models the path is Menu → Manual Setup → Network Setup → Network Info. The MAC address is shown on that screen.
Network CD receivers (Denon RCD-N7/N8/N9, DNP-720/730; Marantz M-CR series): press Source or Home → Setup → Network → Network Info.
Recent Denon AVRs (AVR-1912 / 2312 / 3312 and the X-series): Menu → System Setup → Network Setup → Network Info.
Older Denon with a front display (AVR-5308, AVC-A1HD, AVP-A1HD and similar): Menu → Manual Setup → Network Setup → Network Info — the display scrolls the address.
Yamaha receivers
On RX-A, RX-V and R-N models: open the on-screen menu → Setup → Network → Information (or Network Connection) → MAC Address. On MusicCast models you can also read it in the MusicCast app under the device’s settings.
Onkyo and Pioneer receivers
On TX-NR, VSX and other network models: Setup → Hardware (or Network) → Network → MAC Address. Some models list it under Home → Network → Network Information.
What the address looks like
A MAC address is six pairs of hex digits (0–9 and A–F). Denon and Marantz units often start with 00:05:CD. If the screen shows it without colons, it is the same value — just group it in pairs.
