How to tell if your receiver used vTuner

Retune·FM restores receivers whose Internet Radio ran on the legacy vTuner directory. Here’s how to tell whether yours did.

The tell-tale signs

• The menu is called Internet Radio or NET RADIO (not a branded streaming app).
• The on-screen error mentions vtuner.com, radiodenon.com, radiomarantz.com, or asks for a vTuner access code.
• The receiver is from roughly the 2010–2017 era, before the manufacturer’s current smart platform (HEOS, MusicCast, etc.).
• Everything else (media server, Spotify, Bluetooth) works — only the station list is gone.

Which models moved on

Newer models were generally migrated to another provider and don’t need this: HEOS-era Denon and Marantz (an “H” in the model name, e.g. AVR-X1400H) and MusicCast Yamaha models with the airable update still have working Internet Radio.
